People seek therapy for a variety of reasons. Though the process of therapy can be difficult, I bring an accepting and compassionate mindset to our relationship that will help you feel comfortable in session and leave therapy feeling more satisfied, skillful, and empowered. I typically work with college students, adults, and older adolescents. I primarily work from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) perspectives. I also integrate components of other orientations where helpful and tailor my therapeutic approach to the individual characteristics and needs of each client. The majority of my training has been in college counseling and community mental health. My areas of interest and expertise include trauma, OCD, social anxiety, specific phobia, panic disorder, emotion dysregulation, issues of overcontrol, nonsuicidal self-injury, depression, and LGBTQ+ issues. I look forward to meeting you and beginning our work together!

At Intersection Therapy, we hope to meet your needs and help you find effective ways to process your stress! Meeting individuals where they are, Our therapists provide art therapy, EMDR, and verbal counseling interchangeably. We encourage individuals to face their own ambivalence to process the uncomfortable topics brought out in therapy through artistic introspection. Finding the words to describe your life challenges and accomplishments will be made conscious through various creative processes in your sessions. We have each learned to blend empathy, support, equality, and validation for each of the life events that you are needing to process. The best way to provide you the appropriate space for change is meeting you where you are as it pertains to your journey for change. We have each worked in various settings within the mental health community including residential treatment, acute inpatient, alternative and regular education, in-home based counseling, and most recently private practice serving children, adolescents, adults, families, and individuals in relationships. As a Latinx and LGBTQIA+ owned/run practice, we hope to provide a safe therapeutic space to the individuals seeking support through our practice! We look forward to building a lasting therapeutic alliance with you at whatever intersection of life you are in.

College can intensify difficulties with attention, mood, anxiety, relationships, sleep, motivation, and daily routines. I help students sort through multiple concerns, understand what may be contributing to them, and decide what to address first. My approach is warm, practical, and individualized, ranging from concrete problem-solving to deeper emotional work. Humor is also an important part of treatment. As a board-certified psychiatrist with extensive psychotherapy experience, I consider how biology, medical conditions, developmental history, personality, relationships, and daily life interact. This broader perspective guides thoughtful decisions about medication, psychotherapy, mind-body practices, or some combination of these. I provide careful ADHD evaluations that consider developmental history as well as other factors that can affect attention and executive functioning, including anxiety, mood, trauma, sleep, substance use, and life structure. I also work with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, psychosis, relationship difficulties, and developmental trauma. When a student already has a therapist, I welcome close collaboration with that therapist. I graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed my psychiatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University. My postgraduate psychotherapy training has included experiential approaches and Attachment-Focused EMDR.

College life can feel like a high-speed juggling act. Classes, relationships, deadlines, family expectations, and trying to take care of yourself all compete for your attention. It can be hard to slow down and make sense of everything you are carrying. I work with students who want to pause, understand what is creating stress or disconnection, and refocus on what truly matters. If you want a therapist who will be your biggest cheerleader and also someone who will call you in when you need it, you are in the right place. My approach is trauma informed and grounded in CBT. Together we work to understand patterns, build clarity, and create real and lasting change. Finding the right therapist matters, especially when you are balancing a full schedule. If you are considering therapy, I invite you to visit my website and schedule a free consultation. This is your chance to ask questions, explore your goals, and get a sense of whether we are a good match. I offer virtual counseling for students located in PA, VA, and DC.

I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical/Counseling Psychology and hold credentials as both a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have been in the field a little over 10 years and have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns; including depression, anxiety, identity formation, crisis management, addiction, and life transitions. My counseling style is very person-first and engaging. I believe in incorporating different therapeutic techniques in order to meet you exactly where you are during each interaction. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, dialectical-behavioral, person-centered, and solution-focused techniques. My goal is to have you feel comfortable and help guide you to develop healthy skills that encourage empowerment and self-discovery. Outside of my career, I am an animal lover that enjoys traveling. I enjoy being physically active and believe the best gifts are those you can experience! I am a fan of all Italian food and find comfort relaxing while watching a good movie or reading a thrilling book. I strongly advocate the concept of self-care and overall life balance. I understand how vulnerable and overwhelming it can feel to seek counseling and I appreciate the courage my clients display by doing so. I hope to support and provide encouragement as we begin this process together. I believe that every individual has the ability to overcome struggles and learn how to highlight their strengths that they may not even be aware they have! I look forward to working with you! Hello! Throughout my ten years in the mental health field, I have worked in settings that range from inpatient to outpatient, as well as school and mobile. My clients represent all stages across the lifespan. My passion is helping clients to address a variety of needs, many of which stem from prior traumatic or dysfunctional patterns, as well as to help them find a more fulfilling balance. I often see clients suffer from imposter and/or Wonder Woman syndrome, frequently manifesting as suicidal ideation, depression, and/or anxiety. I use an integrated approach rooted in feminist theory, and that focuses on how trauma currently shows up in our lives. I find this is crucial to break the cycle. I believe that clients of all genders are harmed by societal norms, roles, and stigmas; we all can benefit from working to break down those barriers for the sake of healthy emotional expression. There is nothing better in my line of work than watching clients heal and grow to become thrivers - their own champions. Please reach out to discuss a potential relationship!

I provide individual, couples, and family therapy in person in Philadelphia, and I can see clients virtually in most states including New York. Because I completed my postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and was the director of Penn's O’Brien Center for Addiction Treatment, I have extensive experience with the needs of Penn students. I work well with student athletes, including those who are recovering from injuries. I am very familiar with the application processes for medical school, veterinary school, law school, and business school--and with careers in competitive industries such as consulting, investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, and real estate development. I can help students with burnout and academic stress as well as anxiety, perfectionism, and self-doubt. In addition to working with Penn Students, I also have experience with students from NYU, Georgetown, the University of Michigan, Yale, Brown, Fordham, Drexel, Bryn Mawr, Villanova, St. Joe's, Cornell, the University of Delaware, the University of Pittsburgh, American University, Penn State, Thomas Jefferson University, SUNY Upstate Medical University, and many other schools. I have helped students to find meaningful romantic relationships and to heal earlier relationship injuries that may be getting in the way of intimacy. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) can be very helpful for overcoming childhood and relationship wounding. More broadly, I am skilled at helping with career coaching, anxiety, depression, trauma, insomnia, grief, loneliness and addiction. I also work with people to improve their relationships with social media and screens. My style is nonjudgmental and flexible. I often use EMDR to help people to work through stressful or traumatic events and to better understand themselves. Depending on the client’s goals, I can integrate CBT, DBT, and solution-oriented approaches. I have extensive training in IFS (Internal Family Systems) and, for couples, IFIO (Intimacy from the Inside Out). I also have specialized training in the CRAFT approach for how to talk to loved ones about addictive behaviors without hurting the relationship. Using EMDR, I can help people to address the root causes of complex issues like addiction. My background is in positive psychology and addiction. My postdoctoral fellowship at Penn was in positive psychology. From that I learned to help people to use their strengths to build happier lives and careers.

Life often feels stressful and overwhelming and can knock us off our feet before we know it. When this happens, strong emotions can overtake us and it can feel as if there is nowhere to turn. When nothing seems to be working, having someone to express your feelings to, who listens and hears you, can feel like a breath of fresh air. I am here to validate your feelings and to allow you to make space to get the support you are looking for. I offer in person sessions in a comfortable and inviting office space. In addition, I am able to offer virtual sessions, if you would prefer this method of meeting. I meet clients where they are at currently. I look forward to chatting with you more to find out what you are looking for in a clinician and how we can best work together to get you to a place that feels right for you!

I'm a little weird and sarcastic and work best with clients who are a little weird and sarcastic. I specialize in working with clients who have experienced some form of trauma - this may include religious trauma, sexual assault, harrassment, bullying, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, violent crimes, accidents, incarceration, and refugee status. I also have experience working with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and OCD, and those dealing with life transitions, including transition to and out of college, changes in identity and changes in religion/loss of faith.

I may have opening starting January 2023. I value working collaboratively with clients to identify their struggles and strengths. I use a mix of warmth, honesty, humility, and humor to help clients discover their authentic selves, as I believe contact with our genuine thoughts, feelings, and needs best inform our approach to our problems. I strive to create a safe and brave environment in therapy where clients can feel empowered, particularly those that have felt criticized or marginalized by their families, communities, or even themselves. In psychology terms, I have an integrative approach using a mixture of CBT, humanistic therapy, and brief dynamic psychotherapy. I believe happiness is not something received or achieved, but the byproduct of ongoing, deliberate effort to be who you really are.
