Therapists for college students near University of Pennsylvania
I provide comprehensive treatment for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, ADHD and various other mental health conditions. Psychiatry is a unique field in medical practice and listening to our patients is the key to understanding their needs. We aim to understand you, not just medicate you. The primary focus is on adults between the ages of 20 and 60 who are motivated to make healthy changes in their life, to learn about their condition and to grow in the process. Although medications do play a central role sessions often involve a deeper exploration of the patient's life issues that may be playing a key role. The focus is patient centered mental health. Several conditions are beyond the scope of our practice. Patients with eating disorders, psychosis, body image distortions, gender dysphoria and substance use issues are often referred to more specialized centers. Parenting or custody evaluations are also outsourced as are disability evaluations. I do not participate with any third party insurance carriers. Payment for appointments is expected at the session. The 90 min evaluation is $250, follow-ups are $150. Most forms of payment are accepted. The frequency of appointments varies depending on the complexity of the presentation and patient needs.
There are 4 Minuteclinic therapists in Pennsylvania, available via telehealth or in person, 365 days a year. All of us are licensed, experienced, caring, and motivated to help you get back to thriving. In particular, about me: I am the therapist in Jenkintown. I try to use experiential methods (such as IFS, Internal Family Systems) so that therapy isn't 'just talk'. But if you just want a good compassionate listener, I can do that too. I might be a good choice for you if your situation is complicated, if your feelings are very intense, or if this is your first time reaching out for therapy and you want to make sure it's a good experience (or if you've had bad experiences in therapy before and you want to make sure it's different this time.) Feel free to contact me to see if I'm right for you. Best wishes, Su Siegelman LCSW
Do emotions take over and exhaust you? Have people marveled at how resilient you are or mentioned your sensitivity as a liability? Maybe you sometimes wonder if you’re the only one who is seeing the hurt and pain all around. It’s likely you have figured out how to adapt to what the world wants you to be. You present the part of yourself that is widely accepted by your community and our social systems, but what about the rest of YOU? We always hear that college is the best days of our lives, but it is also a time a self discovery. That discovery process can be painful, and I can help. I guide young adults to connect to their inherent worth, power, and self-compassion. I work collaboratively with clients and draw from an expansive toolbox including body-oriented practices, talk therapy, and expressive arts. I am well suited to work with clients who are interested in mindfulness meditation and other body-based exercises to be the center of their therapeutic experience. My scope of practice includes anxiety, grief, burn-out, persistent depression, relational stressors, survivors of sexual trauma, and those navigating life as an artist. I align with clients whose identities and values defy society's conventional norms. My practice is trauma-informed, and I am dedicated to an anti-oppression, anti-racist, body positive, LGBTQIA+ affirming and equitable lens.

Welcome, I'm glad you're here. I tend to work best with clients who are experiencing adjustments to life stages, and/or those who identify with Borderline Personality Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and anxiety disorders. I am passionate about creating spaces, both in therapy and in communities, that can hold all parts of us, including the vulnerable and painful ones, and allow them to connect rather than isolate us. I work to empower clients to understand their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and reclaim their lives. Our individualized therapy sessions provide a safe space for healing and growth, guiding you toward lasting resilience and improved mental well-being. Whether you’re struggling with intrusive thoughts, overwhelming worry, or persistent sadness, my role is to guide you in uncovering and embracing these resources through a compassionate and supportive therapeutic relationship. I also work with couples, where I provide a safe and supportive environment so that partners can explore their feelings, improve communication, and navigate conflicts. With personalized strategies and evidence-based techniques, I’m here to help couples rediscover intimacy, build trust, and foster a deeper connection. Whether you’re facing a specific issue or seeking to enhance your relationship, I’m here to guide you on your journey to a healthier, happier partnership. Let’s work together to create the love and understanding you deserve. Whether you're interested in individual, couple's, or group therapy, I strive to create a compassionate healing environment built on trust, transparency and mutual respect, in which clients can reclaim their sense of power and agency as they reconnect with their inner strength. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental environment where we explore your inner world and develop practical tools for emotional resilience. My approach is collaborative, and I aim to empower you to understand and embrace all parts of yourself, leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Drexel University, and my Bachelor’s from the State University of New York at Oswego. I have formal training in Exposure Response Prevention, the gold standard of OCD treatment, but also heavily incorporate other modalities in my work and will always tailor our work to your needs. When not at work, I can often be found with friends at a local coffee shop, or home spending time with my partner and our two cats, Jack and Hendricks.

Relationships and experiences impact who we are as individuals, partners, and members of groups. Our relational patterns are encoded within us and shape our sense of self as well as the ways we relate to those around us. Things we avoid thinking about or addressing have a habit of emerging again and again. Therapy can help to illuminate, reflect on, process, and metabolize thoughts and feelings that may be preventing us from living the lives we want. I offer a supportive approach to help you manage anxiety, ease fear, and develop tools to build resilience. The transition away from home and into college comes with a unique set of challenges and opportunities. Many students struggle with anxiety and depression, making social connections, managing academic stress, navigating a new school culture, leaving relationships from home, and more. I've partnered with students and families in local independent schools for almost 20 years in addition to working more recently with dozens of students in counseling and psychological services in a rigorous college setting.

At Praxis Relationship Therapy, I work with college and graduate students, and young adults who want to better understand themselves and build healthier, more secure relationships. I specialize in relationship concerns (dating, breakups, communication, intimacy), adult child-parent relationship dynamics including adult children of emotionally immature parents, adult ADHD, and major life transitions like adjusting to college or navigating independence. Whether you're feeling stuck in patterns, struggling to connect, ot trying to make sense of your emotions and thoughts, therapy can be a space to slow down and figure things out, with support and structure. As a Turkish-American therapist who came to the U.S. as an international student in 2016, I deeply understand the challenges of cultural adjustment, identity, and belonging. I’m a health psychologist who helps people break the cycle between life stress and physical health problems. Stress, burnout, and emotional strain can lead to poor sleep, weight gain, high blood pressure, and difficulty managing conditions like diabetes or chronic illness. At the same time, health issues can affect your mood, relationships, motivation, and daily habits. I use evidence-based approaches — including CBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing — to help people shift unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, and make sustainable changes in how they care for themselves. Whether you're navigating a new diagnosis or struggling to stick with a health plan, I work collaboratively to create a personalized strategy that fits your real life. My goal is to help patients feel more in control of their health and well-being — not just physically, but emotionally and behaviorally.
Hello, I’m Dustin! Life is difficult; there is no rule book. I am here to support you to help you learn new coping skills and strategies. I will partner with you so that you can move toward a life of enthusiasm, wholeness, and fulfillment. Have you ever felt like the “other?” I specialize in working with adults and adolescents ages 15 and up who have felt like the “other.” At some point almost all of us have felt like we were different. These can be traumatic experiences. I am here to help you navigate through these difficult experiences so that you can shine. My style and personality is nurturing and supportive, yet very direct and truthful. It also has a healthy dash of humor and fun. As an active singer and songwriter, I am also on my own creative and personal journey. I am ready to share with you what I have learned!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 20 years of experience as a therapist and clinical supervisor. My approach is non-judgmental and grounded in respect. I work collaboratively with each client to understand their unique situation, struggles, and goals; working to develop the tools needed to improve relationships - including their relationship with themself. It is exhausting to feel disconnected, overwhelmed, or like you’re walking on eggshells with people you love. It is miserable to feel like you’re just faking it every day, not liking yourself, or not knowing how to manage your depression or anxiety. Maybe there has been trauma, or maybe people just don’t understand. For people who have experienced trauma, there is an additional weight: issues with trust, feeling unsafe, triggered, ashamed, not knowing what is wrong. I can help. See more about me at FindingCenter-Anderson.com. I see people in-person or on telehealth. You can call, text, or email me at 215-839-8709 or charlotte.anderson.LPC@gmail.com
