My therapeutic style is authentic, nonjudgmental, and laid back. I believe all humans should be treated with respect and kindness, and all people are seeking understanding and acceptance. I attempt to personalize my therapeutic approach to match the unique needs of you (and your family). I am trained and certified in EMDR and my passion lies in using EMDR Therapy to help individuals heal from trauma. I also enjoy working with premarital couples, using their strengths to work on growth areas. I find young adults a joy to work with, and love helping individuals in this life stage navigate their true sense of self.

I specializing in supporting individuals through major life transitions, including the transition to college. College can be an exciting, new thing, but it can also be full of anxiety and worry as well. I know how hard it can be to suddenly find yourself on your own for the first time and have no idea what you are doing. I know how hard it can be to feel as if you need to have your whole life figured out at the ripe age of 20. I know how hard it can be to switch majors and feel behind. I love to meet clients where they are at while slowly pushing them to where they want to be. I have a wide background in trauma and anxiety and offer evidence based practices such as EMDR. Everyone deserves support, however they arrive — color-coded planner in hand or running five minutes late with coffee spilled down their shirt. Anxious, calm, talkative, quiet, existentially confused — you’re welcome here. The bigger question is really: Am I your kind of therapist? You might read my profile and think, “She gets me,” or, “Why is she so emotionally invested in foxes and axolotls?” Either way, I promise I’m still licensed. I’m an LPC-MHSP, LCPC with over nine years of experience. I mainly work with PTSD, OCD, DV/SA, and BPD. I also see a range of other concerns—because humans are complex, and the universe did not consult the DSM before handing out life experiences. People usually open up more when they don’t feel pressure to perform or deliver a TED Talk about their feelings. Autonomy matters to me. You get to ask questions, collaborate on your treatment, and arrive exactly as you are — glamorously put-together or held together by three bobby pins and sheer willpower. If you need to laugh, cry, swear, or take a strategic pause while your soul hits “buffering,” that’s part of the process. Life gets messy… it's real and unfiltered. *** I schedule by appt so I do not have posted hours. Please just reach out. I am flexible!

I am licensed psychotherapist in New York, Florida, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Utah, and Ohio. I am also a Certified Wellness Counselor. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years. We have been taught that emotions are not meant to be felt but rather controlled. To hide the bad ones and only show the good ones. That sitting in them for too long means we are either dramatic, obsessive, or abnormal. If you have ever been told, either by others in your life or you yourself, that your emotions are too much or too complicated, I would like to say, “I hear you, and I am here for you.” In our sessions I would like to provide you with an environment where your emotional expression is celebrated and not reprimanded as I believe we can begin to heal once we have allowed ourselves to fully feel, without judgment or policing. Whether that is guilt, shame, sadness, anger, grief, anxiousness, and anything in between, we can work on processing them together at your own pace. I know that starting therapy can be a daunting and overwhelming task. However, getting the help you deserve and finding a therapist that fits your needs is already the first step!

Do you find yourself struggling with intrusive, unwanted or “sticky” thoughts? Maybe your mind is constantly jumping to the worst case scenario, gets caught up in endless “what ifs,” or convinces you that you need to be 100% sure about something before you move on. You may have tried managing your anxiety or thoughts by avoiding certain people, places, or situations, reassuring yourself, mentally reviewing or rehearsing conversations, cleaning, saying a prayer, thinking a good thought to neutralize a bad thought, etc. You don't want to spend so much time engaging in these behaviors, but you feel like you can't stop — like you have to do them to stop something bad from happening, or to feel better. The relief you get from these behaviors is temporary, because the thoughts and feelings always come back, making you feel even more frustrated and hopeless. Over time you’ve noticed your world has started to shrink, and things have become difficult to manage. You struggle with paying attention in class, getting assignments in on time, procrastination, spending time with friends, or making decisions. You feel trapped, alone, and scared. If any of this resonates with you, I'm here to tell you that these experiences are common for those living with OCD and anxiety. The good news is that your life doesn't have to stay this way. With the right treatment, it’s possible to break free of OCD and anxiety and get back to the things that matter most to us. If you are interested in taking the next step please text, call, email, or fill out a form on my website to schedule a free 15 min consultation.

With over 20 years of experience, Stacy seamlessly blends the rich traditions of therapy with innovative techniques. As a Clinical Social Worker, her advanced credentials in Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Mental Emotional Release® (MER), and Hypnosis mark her as a leading Change Navigator™, especially for college students navigating significant life transitions. Stacy holds a powerful belief: each individual, especially during their transformative college years, has the capability to 'reprogram' their mind, much like software updates. This conviction, shaped by countless student interactions, showcases the adaptability and resilience inherent in young adults. Stacy delves deep, identifying old mindsets and behaviors, which often take root during early years, and can impact academic performance and emotional wellbeing. Her approach is a harmonious fusion of science and empathy. By combining the communication skills of NLP, the emotional release of MER, and the transformative states of Hypnosis, Stacy offers students a holistic therapeutic journey. While she employs time-tested methods, she also ensures her strategies remain current and relatable. Many of the students Stacy connects with share common experiences: they are navigating the challenges of young adulthood, adjusting to college life, and aiming to define their future paths. She sees therapy, coaching, and consulting as interlinked, allowing her to tailor her interventions to each student's unique story. Stacy believes in collaboration; students set their course, and she serves as their trusted guide. Together, they work to ensure that every student embarks on a journey of discovery, resilience, and positive transformation.

As a queer therapist, I believe there is no one “right way” to live our lives. This is the same for therapy, there is no “right way.” I believe we all have the power to harness our strengths and find the path that gives us the most meaning and purpose. Clients are the experts in their own lives – each person has the tools and skills to solve their problems, though sometimes may need some outside help to find those tools and learn those skills. Together we can create a therapeutic alliance that is conducive towards self-discovery, growth, and fulfilling your potential while honoring your history, resiliency, values, and beliefs. I completed my Masters in Social Work at Loyola University Chicago. I am working towards being a Certified Sex Therapist (CST) through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT). I specialize in working with the LGBTQ+ community, gender diverse, the consensual non-monogamy (CNM) community, and I am kink/BDSM-affirming.
